A
surprisingly common and yet hardly thought-of cause of wrist pain:
Wrist pain – often the result of endless hours on a computer keyboard – actually has several causes.
The most talked about is Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, where the tiny tunnel in your wrist through which pass the Median Nerve and 9 tendons for your finger muscles, becomes partly closed, entrapping the nerve and causing great pain.
Wrist pain can also be tendonitis from the repetitive motion of keyboarding.
But there is a surprise cause – one many doctors overlook, or have never heard of. It is located at the other end of your Median Nerve, in your neck. When the bones of your neck do not function right or get locked out of line, they can irritate and inflame the Median Nerve at its root, but you feel the pain in your wrist, because that is the part it controls. Treating the wrist will do no good, because the CAUSE is far away.
DOUBLE CRUSH – A common occurrence. You have both wrist and neck problems, and both must be addressed simultaneously to get pain relief. I have seen a lot of Double Crush, and have had good results for my patients.
